MRSA stands for methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus. MRSA is a type of bacteria that has shown itself to be resistant to many antibiotics. It can be found in many settings and can cause a range of health problems, which include skin infections and pneumonia, and if it isn't treated quickly, it can become severe and cause sepsis. Anyone is susceptible to getting MRSA. It can be transferred and contracted in crowds, through skin-to-skin contact and by touching surfaces where the virus resides. MRSA is most often spread by coming into contact with someone who has it or by touching contaminated surfaces. It can also be picked up by sharing personal items with someone who has MRSA.

What is MRSA?

What Disinfectant Kills MRSA?

First and foremost, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) recommends covering open wounds and practicing good hygiene as a means to help prevent the spread of MRSA. Beyond that, keeping your home or business clean and disinfected can substantially lower the risk of MRSA. Are there any disinfectants that will kill MRSA?

According to the CDC, "disinfectants that are effective against Staphylococcus aureus, or staph, are also effective against MRSA." Any disinfectant you purchase should have a label with a list of germs that the product can kill and an Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) registration number. It should be easy for you to check if a disinfectant is effective against MRSA by looking for the above information on the label. You can also check the "selected EPA-registered disinfectants " list online to find products that are effective against MRSA.

Disinfectants Kill Germs and Bacteria
When you're looking for disinfectants that can kill MRSA or other viruses, keep in mind that many disinfectants use harsh chemicals. The CDC defines a disinfectant as a product that uses chemicals to kill germs and bacteria. The EPA has warned against the use of harsh chemicals because they can harm people, the environment, and wildlife. Still, many of the recommended products for killing MRSA and other viruses are full of toxic chemicals, and while they may be effective at killing MRSA, they can produce risks that may not be worth taking.

Germinator utilizes a patent-pending sanitizing and disinfecting process without the use of harmful chemicals and can effectively treat any residential or commercial location. Our process is effective against MRSA and other types of pathogens. Germinator has always been devoted to bringing an effective sanitizing and disinfecting service to consumers without the use of harmful chemicals or fumes.

Upholding the highest standards of sanitization and disinfection, Germinator only makes claims that are scientifically supported and within EPA regulations. To research and further validate its practice of sanitizing and disinfecting surfaces, the company created the Germinator Scientific Board. The board is made up of key leaders such as Dr. Roscoe M. Moore, Jr. —who was an Assistant to the United States Surgeon General for five administrations.

Protect Surfaces from the Threat of Harmful Microbes By Disinfecting
Since 2015, we have been 100% focused on just sanitizing and disinfection services. We have conducted extensive studies based on experiments with other methods like ozone, UV light, hydrogen peroxide, chlorine dioxide, and other quats. These studies were reviewed by our Scientific Board, comprised of top medical professionals and epidemiologists. The methodology developed by Germinator is patent-pending and is the most unique and cost-effective means of providing enhanced antimicrobial protection for your environment.

Today more than ever, it is important that your commercial establishment takes appropriate measures to help protect surfaces against the threat of harmful microbes. We understand the importance of creating a cleaner and more hygienic environment so those who work at or visit your commercial business can have greater peace of mind. That's why Germinator provides a new generation of microbial protection for commercial businesses and homes.

Germinator's Patent-Pending Process

ATP Test SwabStep 1 – Test Surfaces:

We first test your surfaces for ATP using a luminometer to detect light that can come from cellular activity. This measurement immediately tells us the level of cleanliness on your surfaces.

GenesisStep 2 – Application of Genesis Surface Treatment:
Genesis is a one-step cleaner and broad-spectrum sanitizer and disinfectant treatment that harnesses the power of HOCl (hypochlorous acid) solution. We use our solution at full strength of 500 PPM (parts per million) which is hospital-grade disinfection. However, if a residential or commercial location prefers only sanitizing levels instead of disinfecting levels, then we will dilute our solution to 200 PPM for a proper sanitizing service. Derived from naturally occurring minerals, Genesis not only eliminates odors at their source but kills a wide range of bacteria, including Staphylococcus aureus, MRSA, Salmonella enterica, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and viruses including norovirus, rotavirus, and adenovirus on hard, non-porous, environmental surfaces. It meets the Association of Official Agricultural Chemists (AOAC) germicidal spray standards for Hospital-Grade Disinfection and is on the EPA N List of products determined to meet the criteria for use against SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19. As a result, this treatment will eliminate bacteria and viruses that may reside in your home or commercial location without the use of harsh chemicals or fumes.

ShieldStep 3 – Application of Bacteriostatic Finish:
The Shield is a water-based quaternary ammonium compound that imparts a durable bacteriostatic finish to a wide range of non-food contact surfaces. It is EPA-registered as effective against the growth of mold, mildew, algae, and odor-causing bacteria. This application creates an invisible barrier that combats deterioration and discoloration and promotes freshness for up to three months.

The Genesis and Shield products are applied via an electrostatic sprayer, which is the most efficient and effective means of delivering the products to the intended application sites.

ATP Test PassStep 4 – Retest Surfaces:
After our surface treatment and protectant services, we retest to ensure the surfaces have achieved the intended results.

At Germinator, we understand the importance of a clean, sanitized, and disinfected environment. While COVID-19 has dominated our concerns over the past year, many other viruses present health risks. Germinator is an effective way to be proactive against these viruses rather than reactive. Our solutions, when applied via an electrostatic sprayer, are the most thorough way to address all types of facilities. They allow us to evenly distribute our products over every surface, including areas that are frequently overlooked by traditional cleaning crews. We are so confident in the efficacy of our program that we include a verification component. For each application, we verify the surface treatment and protectant services have achieved the intended results. We will always stand by our product and the work we do.
